Week 10

In week 10 I created the file for the data connector last week and this week I've been trying to test it on our database. I was able to connect to the database because I see our project's SQL tables and columns when I query them with the data connector. I'll have to check with Nathan to see if it's not a permissions issue. Also it could be that I'm querying the wrong way even though there's a connection there.

The plan next week is too see if I can figure this out by looking through the docs again. I'll check with Nathan for some possible solutions since he's familiar with the database (this is his existing project).

Besides this, and maybe assignments from another course, no major challenges. No instructor assistance needed at this time.

 Part One: Educational Goals My goal in the CS program is to gain a well-rounded computer science skillset that will prepare me for a career as a software engineer. Looking at course descriptions for courses available within the program, and my own experience outside the classroom, I believe this goal is achievable. Module 8

 OLI Review: This week we took a post test for the OLI material. I found it easier to identify conflict, and and to respond to it properly. Going through the post test questions, I understood why the material is so useful and applicable to team scenarios throughout the course. Luckily, I was assigned to a great team, and haven't had to use any of the conflict resolution methods mentioned in the OLI. Week 4

For this week, one of my assignments was to reflect on completing my Markov program, and compare my reflections to those of my teammates. Who did you work with? You can work with up to three people For this exercise, Luis Hernandez and Edward Torres. What was your strategy for solving the Markov assignment? Did you start writing code right away? Did you plan it out on paper? I typically read the instructions in the prompt first to get a mental picture of how the program should work, and how the different parts of it interact. I also reviewed the lab video since I couldn't attend the session live. When reading through the prompt, the driver file, and the test file, I also try to identify which methods or classes need to be written first. I usually choose to implement methods that don't depend on others first.
